Yeast Or Candida Overgrowth

There are many faulty ideas around regarding yeast overgrowth or Candida overgrowth. We can set an end to this problem ourselves.

Physicians often do not recognize the problem and if so they hand out prescription drugs. There are not many accurate tools available to correctly diagnose the problem.

I like to take a different – more holistic – approach to examine this problem.

We had family members that were suffering from yeast infection. Here all the data I found and the solution to it – see also the review about the book that finally set an end to all our sufferings.

There is a specific reason why I prefer to call it overgrowth.

Deep inside our intestines, we have bacteria, yeasts, parasites and germs that are living there … LOTS of them. Actually, each of us is carrying about 70 trillion of those, amounting to 3 to 4 pounds.

Many of these are good and needed for the good health of our intestines … some are creating issues for our health.

If our intestines and our immune system are healthy, our body can hold the bad ones in check and no health issues arise.

Yeast or Candida - microscopic imageHOWEVER, under certain, and surprisingly common conditions, a specific type of fungus, called Candida albicans, can go through a dangerous modification that makes it extremely aggressive, destructive and then wreaks havoc throughout our entire body system. Meaning it becomes an overgrowth.

This type of fungus is considerably more common – and harmful – than generally known.

Does This Condition Only Arise In Rare Medical Circumstances?

Nearly 3 in 4 women (and many men) suffer from one kind or another type of yeast overgrowth… some with minor symptoms such as rashes, increased PMS symptoms and bad breath… others with far more serious conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome, unwanted emotional states, joint pain or chronic fatigue syndrome. See a complete list of the symptoms at yeast infection symptoms.

You may experience a whole array of symptoms that does not seem to go away no matter what you try, which can be traced back to a yeast overgrowth problem.

The worst part is that most mainstream physicians do not have a clue how to treat this possibly serious condition … and those who do address it, use chemical drugs that frequently make the situation worse.

Those little yeast creatures are a crafty breed – a composition of animal, plant, and bacteria, able to recreate sexually (with a mate) or asexually (by itself), and can modify its shape by rearranging its chromosomes so they can take on several different forms as an adaptive technique to ensure its survival.

That is an amazing set of characteristics… no wonder it is so hard to get rid of a yeast infection!

How This Yeast Overgrowth Comes About

Candida, found in its normal, simple and relatively harmless form appears like a tiny white egg, with a relatively constant, smooth shape, living in your intestines, basically sticking to itself, nourishing off of the food we eat.

However, under certain conditions, this type of yeast can mutate and transform into a gigantic super-fungus that rapidly increases to colonize many parts of the body as possible. Actually, in certain areas of your body, if it finds the right food source (like sugar, fermented foods, and harmless yeasts) it can double the size in less than an hour.

This mutated form of Candida (technically called the mycelial form) grows pointed, finger-like tentacles, called rhizoids, that then drill and bore their way through the walls of your intestines. It makes its way into the blood stream and grows into a systemic infection that can be found in every part of the body including the lungs, eyes, kidneys, liver, heart, and even the brain.

Next time you hear that someone you know has a candida overgrowth, you understand that something much more dangerous and insidious is going on deep inside the organism.

A Cracked Wall In The Belly?

Maybe you have seen weeds that are growing in or around cracks in walls where the roots of them have grown so thick and deep that they cracked the walls, exposing everything behind?

That is just what Candida does when it mutates into its more dangerous super-form.

Not only will it slip into your blood stream through these openings in your intestines,  but the created holes also allow all sorts of other items into your blood stream that are meant to be restricted to the intestines… things like undigested food, bacteria, parasites and toxins. This is exactly why a yeast overgrowth can make you feel so incredibly bad and sick.

It May Literally Cause You To Be Drunk From The Inside Out

One of the most dangerous aspects of Candida are the byproducts that it produces within its own lifecycle. Candida has been found to generate seventy-nine distinct toxins.

If the yeast dies, it produces the toxin acetaldehyde, which is converted into ethanol by the liver – the same chemical substance that causes hangovers after drinking alcohol.

As the Candida infestation continues to grow and more acetaldehyde is released, the blood alcohol level goes up,  just as if you were drinking alcohol, leading to symptoms like impaired thinking, lack of concentration, irritability, emotional imbalance, brain fog, slowed down reflexes, fatigue and much more.

Additionally, red blood cells form rolls of coins and therefore find it difficult to flow into small capillaries, which can cause cold feet and hands, fatigue, migraines and muscle aches.

On the other hand, white blood cells have difficulty in fighting infections, which can cause allergic reactions, rashes, acne and other skin conditions and the slowing down of the process of healing.

Furthermore, due to the production of carbon dioxide when carbohydrates are fermented bread rises from yeast, Candida is also producing carbon dioxide in the intestine. This is the cause of constant gas and bloating.

Candida Diagnosis

One method for diagnosis is a good analysis for risk factors like antibiotic use and symptoms of chronic yeast problems. Also, the use of oral birth control pills or oral steroid hormones can add to the predisposition. Unfortunately, more subtle problems related to yeast are usually ignored and not linked to patient’s complaints. Many alternative practitioners over diagnose yeast problems. However, there are many people who do have yeast problems, and most of them do not know it.

The symptoms of Candida overgrowth are different for every person and the reaction to treatments will also be different. There are people that need harsh treatment while others only need simple changes in their nutrition to reach a significant change in their health.

Lab Tests For Yeast Infection

Blood Test

With the blood test, your immune response to Candida is tested. Three antibodies are being measured – IgG, IgA, and IgM. High levels of these antibodies indicate the presence of a Candida overgrowth.

Stool Analysis

The stool is directly examined for levels of the fungus, pathogenic bacteria, and friendly bacteria. Candida sometimes will not be present in a single stool test.  Samples of stool should be collected over several days at different times of the day.

Urine Tartaric Acid Test

This test checks for tartaric acid – which is a waste product of Candida overgrowth. An increased level indicates an overgrowth of Candida.

Alternative Practitioners’ Method – Dark Field Blood Analysis

The conventional method for blood microscopy is to stain the blood and have a bright field. Watch the video for better understanding.

With the dark field diagnosis, a much more detailed blood analysis can be done.

Watch this video and get a better understanding how healthy and unhealthy blood would look like.

Yeast overgrowth can be detected easily with this method. The threads of the fungus are plainly visible.

Conventional Medicine’s Solution

If a subject is not taught in medical school, it is assumed not to be real. Medical history proves this is a dangerous assumption.

Unfortunately, in addition, the treatments that standard medicine offers do basically nothing to eliminate this insidious Candida overgrowth and in fact can make things worse.

External treatments, oils, creams, lotions, and rinses are only barely effective and do not come near addressing the systemic, body-wide nature of the infestation.

Equally, addressing the system-wide infestation with the use of powerful antifungals only works temporarily as the remarkably flexible and intelligent yeast eventually develops a resistance to whatever anti-fungal preparation is used.

Getting At The Root Of The Malady

But there is a proven, effective way of getting rid of out-of-control yeast overgrowth problems… one that fixes the condition for good.

Because your body is out of balance in some way, is the reason why the yeast infection develops in the first place. Somehow your immune system has been impaired allowing the yeast to grow uncontrolled.

If that is the reason why that the Candida overgrowth arose in the first place, then the only way to get rid of it is to re-balance whatever is out of balance and restore the body’s natural immune capacity.

It is a strong sign that something within the body made it far too welcoming for the Candida to flourish in case you suffer from weird allergies, strange aches, bad breath, rashes, fatigue, bloating and gas, pains and trouble concentrating.

To cure yourself permanently of a system-wide or even localized yeast overgrowth, you must create an environment that is both nourishing to your body’s own innate healing powers and hostile to the fungus.

Basic Directions For Overcoming Candida Overgrowth

  1. Address predisposing factors. Do not take antibiotics, hormones, or steroids unless it is medically absolutely necessary.
  2. Eat a diet that does not feed the yeast in the gut (low sugar, only very little refined carbohydrates, and low mold and yeast in food, no vinegar, little-fermented foods like wine, mixed pickles etc.). It is the best to skip all of it – if you can.
  3. Use probiotics to repopulate the intestine with healthy bacteria (preferably bifidobacteria and acidophilus)
  4. Take antifungal herbs and medications when indicated
  5. Identify potential environmental toxic fungi and molds in your home or workplace and eliminate
  6. Reduce stress.
